The 12,400 mile superhighway from Britain to America: Plans proposed for VERY ambitious road across Russia
Britain could be linked with America by road as part of an ambitious project to create the world’s longest superhighway spanning half the circumference of the globe.
Proposals have been put forward to build the mega route stretching about 12,400 miles from the western edge of Russia to the Bering Strait where the country nudges Alaska.
Linking into existing road networks in Europe and Asia, for the first time it would allow travellers a proper highway to drive all way from the UK to the United States.
A Road Stretching To More Than 80% of The World – Russia Proposes a Superhighway That Will Take You From Europe to the United States!
According to a report in The Siberian Times, Russian Railways president has proposed a plan for a massive trans-Siberian highway
..that would link his country’s eastern border with the U.S. state of Alaska, crossing a narrow stretch of the Bering Sea that separates Asia and North America.
That highway would go from London (UK) to the New York (USA).
That would mean that the citizens of the US could go to Asia by car. And it would be so important only if it hadn’t come straight from the head of Russian Railways. It would go all the way through Russia, and it would include already existent roads and highways. Of course, those roads are going to be “slightly” renewed.

That would be a terrifying bridge to cross
It would but the views alone would make it worth it!
Would NEVER want to drive that, how about a railroad instead! Too much wear and tear on your car!
Not really… You wouldn’t be doing this drive in one straight go… As long as you stop frequently and check everything with your car, it will be no issue.
Given that a car transport costs about 56 Cents or more per mile per car, that would be at more than 6,000 dollars for the car costs alone. Train would be cheaper. On the other hand, a car road means a bicycle road too. I’m all for it!
Sounds great! I don’t like the idea of going straight to NYC, maybe a more central location. Apparently people in other countries only think of NYC! There are lots of other places in the US where one can connect with our freeway system.
It would connect to the Interstate system that’s already here. They say NYC because of its popularity but if someone from Europe wanted to go to Wichita, KS, they could.
Though one question, how long (miles or kilometers) would this connection from Russia to US be?
Any of you Americans stop to think about how it would go through Canada? Oh yeah your northern neighbor. Remember us? Maybe we say no.. .. Oh right you have no clue what happens outside your borders
Probably only symbolic of the farthest-east famous point you can get to (ignoring Boston & Maine, of course).
It will never happen, this is a pipe dream, the issues are the winter ice, and the damage it will cause to the structure,
Isn’t there also a major earthquake fault line between the continents?
Shipping is extremely dangerous in this area, and that’s with experienced ship captains. Now you’re going to put inexperienced motorists in the middle of the Bering Sea? What could possibly go wrong? They must’ve been inspired by California Governor Jerry Brown’s plan for high-speed rail from San Francisco to LA, another asesine idea!
Oh this is wonderful…..Putin can just drive in to visit his friend. Now that is so nice.
And bring his army too.
haa ha ha haaaaa!
